Letter from the new Executive Director

Hi! My name is Heather Humphrey and as of July 1, 2017 I became the Executive Director of the Byron Community Wellness Foundation. I have been involved with the BCWF since March 2015 serving as the Treasurer and a voting member of the board. I have helped out with many of the events over the years, including the Byron Center Farmers Market, Fireball Charity Basketball Challenge, the Byron Center Christmas Parade and co-chairing the West Michigan Chalk Art Festival  in 2016 & 2017. I am pleased to step into a role that I feel is a good fit for me and the community!

I moved to Byron Center in 2002 where I met my wonderful husband, Jimmy and we married on 11/11/11. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Madyson and Emma, and I also gained an amazing step-daughter, Courtney. Madyson attended Byron Center Public Schools starting with Brown Elementary, and she graduated from BCHS in May 2017. She will be attending Purdue University in August. Emma is currently a student at Nickels Intermediate where she will be starting 6th grade in the fall.  I have spent many countless hours volunteering at their schools throughout the years, including helping with the Daddy/Daughter dance, working in numerous classrooms, but dedicating the majority of my time helping out in the library at Brown Elementary.

When I have spare time, I enjoy golfing with my husband and friends at Railside Golf Course. I also love spending time with my family and my pets! I have an adorable pomeranian, Daisy and 3 cats Liza, Ginger and Hadley, who is a 20 pound cat! I enjoy spending mornings at the Byron Township rec center where I work out take Zumba classes, and the occasional cardio class.

I look forward to continuing with the BCWF’s existing projects along with creating new events that are fun for the community! If you would like to contact me, you can e-mail me at heatherhumphrey820@gmail.com or call our business number (616) 878-6029.
